The award-winning Resident Artists of Philadelphia's world-renowned Academy of Vocal Arts (AVA) will return to the Michener Art Museum for a spectacular afternoon of opera and song. For this special performance, audience members who register in advance can vote on songs to be performed by the artists of AVA. This concert will feature classical and near-classical repertoire by international talent with a program to include selections from opera, operetta, and classic Broadway.
The Academy of Vocal Arts is widely considered the premiere training program for young opera singers and is completely tuition-free – supported by annual contributions, ticket sales, and endowment. AVA alumni are featured on the stages of the world's great opera houses every season – from the Academy of Music to Covent Garden, from the Metropolitan Opera to La Scala, including many who have starred in the Metropolitan Opera HD live movies. This 90-minute concert will have one intermission.
